Many of the greatest directors in cinematic history became fascinated with the medium at a young age, dedicating their lives to the craft.

I am not one of those directors.

When I was much younger, I dreamed of becoming a published author, fixated on the nature of storytelling. This progressed into play-writing and theatre direction after I realised directing was like writing a story, using actors instead of words. It didn't take me long to make the jump to film after learning of its storytelling potential and it turned out to be the medium I fell in love with.

I'm pretty good at it too.
